In the unfortunate event that your home is vandalized, broken into or damaged by intruders, SERVPRO of Palo Alto can help clean up your property and remove and potential hazards left behind. SERVPRO has been called several times to do emergency board-ups throughout the bay area, but recently we were called to clean up an interesting apartment break-in to a property in Palo Alto.
Most recently SERVPRO of Palo Alto was called after a home had been vandalized and a fire extinguisher had been sprayed throughout the 1500 sqft home. SERVPRO professionals cleaned the entire home with our dry cleaning methods, as well as used air purifying equipment to address all the particulates in the air.
At another home, the intruders had one thing in mind--to damage the apartment in it's entirety with acid. They left all the carpets burnt and the entire apartment damaged by pouring acid all over the carpets, vinyl floors, and appliances. This place was a disaster, and the chemicals used were a hazard.
SERVPRO crews worked for three days to remove all the flooring remove all the appliances and clean and sanitize the property to leave it safe for repair. Since the acid was very hazardous, crews were suited in full PPE (personal protective equipment), which included tyvek suits, respirators and heavy rubber gloves. Additionally, we installed a large negative air fan or air scrubber to clean the contamination caused by the acid. We removed all the contents and disposed of them according to safety guidelines and regulations.
In addition, SERVPRO professionals are trained to provide cleanup for the following situations:
- Suicide/death accidents
- Homicide cleanups
- Blood cleanup
- Accident cleanup
- Hoarding scenes
- Animal waste/remains
- Chemical spills
- Tear gas cleanup
- Meth lab cleanup
